Achievements

check mark  Federal Funding for RCDI:  $24 million has been appropriated in the FY 2000, FY 2001, FY 2002 and FY 2003 budgets for the USDA.
check mark Increased Foundation Attention and Support:  There is now a 288 member Rural Funders Working Group in the Neighborhood Funders Group, a recognized Affinity Group of the Council on Foundations.  The Working Group helped create a $100 million National Rural Funders Collaborative that is making grants, sponsoring meetings, and making site visits.
check mark More Private Investment:  Stand Up has helped leverage more than $74.6 billion in private investment mainly by Fannie Mae and Bank of America, but also by Freddie Mac, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation's (LISC) National Equity Fund, and Rural Opportunities, Inc.
check mark A Rural Community Developers Network:  The Campaign has organized a Rural Community Developers Network with some 1,811 grassroots members.  It is providing this membership with biweekly information on funding and financing opportunities, training, other resources and policy issues, publishing and distributing a Network Reporter by e-mail, fax and mail.  Click here to join the Network.
check mark A Congressional Rural Caucus:  Inspired by Stand Up, US Representatives Eva Clayton (D-NC, retired) and Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) have restarted a bipartisan Congressional Rural Caucus (CRC), recruiting some 141 House Members to date.  Recently two new co-chairs were elected, US Representatives John Peterson (R-PA) and Allen Boyd (D-FL).  The CRC is dedicated to insuring that rural communities receive their fair share of federal resources and policy support.
