A Place in the Country
A film produced in conjunction with the above report by The Center for Rural Strategies, Appalshop, Inc., and Rural LISC, A Place in the Country, shows the work of seven rural community developers from Maine and South Dakota to California and Texas.  Narrated by Ray Suarez of PBS's The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, the documentary also features excerpts of interviews with US Senators Kit Bond (R-MO) and Tom Daschle (D-SD), US Representatives Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) and Eva Clayton (D-NC, retired), and Robert E. Rubin, Chairman of the Executive Committee at Citigroup. Working and Networking: The 2001 Survey of Rural Community Developers
This report summarizes the results of a Census follow-up survey.  It contains data and analyses on survey respondents, their activities, training needs, information resources, and opinions on how they are represented and the need for a permanent Network of Rural Community Developers.
